Petron personnel have worked on projects globally, including some with very difficult site conditions. We have coordinated the project requirements between the various entities of Process Licensor, Engineering & Design, Construction, and a variety of other Contractors. Our ability to coordinate project activities involving a large diverse group of, process licensors, vendors, engineering and construction contractors, is the key to Petron’s continued success in handling bigger Projects. |
| |
|
| 1.6 QUALITY ASSURANCE AND CONTROL : |
The quality assurance program at Petron requires adhering to applicable standards for Design and Quality Checks by independent groups within the company. These standards for Quality have been developed through international experience in global projects and training of Petron’s personnel in Quality Control and Total Quality Management Programs.
Petron is registered for the ISO 9000 qualification program and has developed an in-house program patterned on the guidelines of ISO 9000 system in all aspects of its services from Licensing, Basic Engineering to Procurement, Project Management and Site Services. |
| |
|
| 1.7 START-UP AND TRAINING SERVICES : |
Successful plant start-up is the final milestone of any project. Petron personnel bring many years of start-up and commissioning experience to our clients. We undertake total responsibility for the start-up of major chemical, petrochemical, and refinery projects. To meet the growing requirement of qualified and experienced engineers in plant start-ups and commissioning activities, Petron maintains a core team of qualified personnel and has many experienced start-up personnel on a retainer basis.
Petron’s operating personnel “get involved” during the later stages of mechanical construction. This enables sections of the plant to be turned over to the operations group whenever sectional commissioning is feasible. This procedure shortens the duration between final construction and plant start-up. Testing and pre-operational work include the use of a check and punch list system to ensure that plant construction is in accordance with drawings and specifications. All testing and pre-operational work (e.g., pressure tests, dry runs, hot tests up to product quality, utility consumption, and guarantee runs) are conducted under the supervision of the start-up manager, supported by Petron’s specialists.
Petron also provides "Training Simulators for the Process" and training seminars for basic unit operations in plants. These seminars enable operators to hone in on their operating skills. Training is provided both in clients plants, reference plants and class room.
|
| |
|
| 1.8 PLANT OPERATIONS AND TROUBLE SHOOTING : |
Petron’s specialists provide expert assistance in optimum operation of process plants to obtain top product quality with minimum energy consumption. The equipment performanceis evaluated constantly and areas of mal or underperformanceare identified and corrected in a systematic approach to troubleshooting. |

| |
|
| 2.1 SAFETY STRATEGY: |
Environment and safety issues are paramount on any approach for the Process controls specifications. Petron designs and the Emergency Shutdown System (ESD) are based on PLC hardware with considerations to be independent and fail safe. |
| |
|
| 2.2 CONTROL CONCEPTS: |
Control of plant operation is the most important basis for control concept definition. Distributed Control System (DCS) is the most beneficial and cost effective solution. It brings contemporary methods of automatic control and graphic display of the process, its control functions and condensed consolidated information of the process parameters to the operating personnel. Computer control adds another dimension to process control. Petron specificies the latest hardware available. |

| 3.2 SAFETY (HAZOP, HAZAN AND RISK ANALYSIS |
Petron’s commitment to technological excellence and environmental concerns characterizes its operation. As plants handling hazardous materials have grown in size and complexity, risk management has become critical. All human activities involve some degree of risk. However, the process industry is rather different from most manufacturing operations in the type of risk involved. All industries involve hazards of falling, tripping, unguarded machinery, fires, etc. The process industry also involves special risks of fire, explosion, and the release of toxic materials. Petron brings its expertise to evaluate these risks at the design stage and takes action to minimize their occurrence. Petron specializes in providing environmental impact studies and HAZOP/HAZAN review of process plants both grass roots and revamps through a network of specialist in the field. |
